Signature Special Events Services Forms Government & Military Services Division
MIAMI, Jan. 6, 2005 – Signature Special Event Services, North America’s
leading full-service event rental company, today announced the formation of a
Government and Military Services Division.
The announcement was made by Tom Brown, president of Signature, at The Special
Event® 2005 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, one of the largest annual
gatherings of event professionals. Signature is exhibiting at The Special Event
in booth 608.
Serving Government and Military Clients
“By forming a division to focus on the needs specific to government and
military, Signature will be able to better meet those requirements while growing
our business,” said Brown, who said that “serving government and military
customers has long been part of Signature’s business focus.”
Signature is currently providing temporary housing, meeting and other facilities
for the U.S. Military at bases throughout the country, including Fort Carson in
Colorado and Fort Bliss in Texas, where troops are being trained for possible
deployment.
“Our involvement with the military includes providing power generators, climate
control, lighting and mobile kitchens and more – all set-up quickly to meet
immediate needs,” said Brown. “Recently,” he said, “Signature established
housing and other facilities for 5,000 U.S. Air Force reservists that included
some 150,000-quare feet of tent structures for sleeping, showers, latrines and
laundries.”
Other government work done by Signature in recent history includes housing and
other facilities for FEMA as part of the recovery effort after four hurricanes –
Charlie, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne – which struck Florida in succession late this
summer. Other companies served in that effort included Florida Power & Light and
BellSouth. “Disaster Relief Effort in Florida Aided by Signature Special Event
Services,” Business Wire, October 21, 2004).
“Working for and with our government and military has been an important and
growing component of Signature’s business,” said Brown. “Now, moving forward in
2005, we are forming this division to serve our government clients even better.”
The Government and Military Services Division will be headed by Ronn Wiehler,
who joined Signature last month as director of business development, Government
and Military Services.
