After Aiding in Hurricane Recovery, Signature Special Event Services Returns to Florida to Exhibit at ‘The Special Event 2005' in Miami Beach
MIAMI, Jan. 5, 2005 – Signature Special Event Services, North America’s
leading full-service event rental company through service to corporate, social
and sports events, is back in Florida in force . . .this time for a major trade
show rather than a major disaster.
Last August, Signature provided disaster relief services in Florida, helping
workers put the states’ infrastructure back in working order after four
consecutive hurricanes caused mass destruction and left thousands homeless. Now,
Signature has returned to Florida to exhibit (in booth 608) at The Special
Event® 2005 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, a premier gathering of event
professionals.
Sunshine Instead of Suffering
“This time we hope to see sunshine instead of suffering,” said Tom Brown,
president of Signature Special Events Services, who said he was “very proud of
his company’s efforts following the devastation of Hurricanes Charlie, Frances,
Ivan and Jeanne,” which all struck one after the other. Signature, through its
offices in Orlando, served clients including Florida Power & Light, BellSouth
and FEMA.
“We were able to respond to the needs of companies who needed temporary housing,
mobile kitchens, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning),
refrigeration, and power generation,” said Brown. “We very much worked
hand-n-hand with our clients, providing services to help them as their people
worked around the clock to help others in desperate need.”
Signature provided tents of varying sizes, from 10' x 10' to 66' x 200', for
sleeping, eating, meeting and storage, lighting and HVAC, including 5- to
150-ton air-conditioning units and 50-250 kilowatt generators. Signature had as
many as 20 sites up at one time, with as many as 50 staff personnel working
around the clock to provide tents, power, HVAC and other services.
“At various times,” he said, “we built and serviced emergency locations at the
Daytona Motor Speedway, West Palm Beach, the Florida Mall, the Martin County
Airport, Pensacola and other sites, each with a ‘Command Central’ locale where
workers could eat, shower, sleep, gather supplies and meet. Signature has served
prestigious clients including Super Bowls, the Olympics, PGA golf and other
events, but never has our work been so important.”
