Signature Special Event Services to Power, Provide Tents and Flooring
For Famous Los Angeles Times Festival of Books
FREDERICK, MD., April 20, 2006 – Signature Special Event Services, North
America’s leading full-service event rental company, announced today that it has
been awarded a contract to provide facilities for the 11th annual Los Angeles
Times Festival of Books, which will be held the weekend of April 29-30 on the
campus of UCLA.
Signature will provide electrical power, flooring and 23,000-square feet of
canopies for this event, which organizers say is the largest festival of its
kind in the U.S.
“We work hand-in-hand with the onsite UCLA electricians, who provide the power
locations for Signature to then distribute to the various sites,” said Judy
Montoya, manager of the California branch of Signature Special Event Services.
“This installation is unique in that it offers the challenge of working in a
university environment while classes are in still in session.”
The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is free to the public, and offers
something for all ages and interests. The Los Angeles Times calls the Festival
“America's largest and grandest literary event,” noting that it attracts more
than 131,000 passionate readers, 370 famous authors, 300 popular exhibitors, and
900 loyal volunteers.
“This event is unique, by every definition of the word – and you’ll be able to
buy dictionaries and books of all types at the Festival,” said Cathy Montez,
Vice President of Signature Special Event Services. “Signature takes particular
pride and pleasure in working with its organizers and helping make it such a
special time and weekend in LA.”
