Signature Special Event Services Awarded Contracts by 3 Major Golf Events to Tent 800,000 Sq. Feet and Build 1,000,000-plus Sq. Feet of Flooring and Carpeting

 
 
FREDERICK, MD – May 17, 2004 – Signature Special Event Services (www.EventServices.com), North America’s leading full-service event rental company, announced today that it has been awarded contracts for three major golf events this summer featuring players from around the world, where it will build 800,000 square feet of tenting and in excess of 1,000,000 square feet of flooring and carpeting for hospitality events.

Tom Brown, president of the Signature Special Event Services, said the 65th Senior PGA Championship (May 27-30 at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky), the PGA Championship (August 9-15 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin), and the Ryder Cup (September 14-19, at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan) have all selected Signature Special Event Services to provide sheltered settings for their events.

“While tournaments and championships are decided out on the course, there is incredible excitement and activities under the tents surrounding these major events,” said Brown, whose company has also provided event rental services for the Super Bowl, the Olympics, and other major golf events.

“Tournaments offer hospitality opportunities to sponsors and their guests, and want the safest, most luxurious and comfortable settings for these activities. In selecting Signature Special Event Services to meet those needs, they are hitting the ball ‘right down the middle of the fairway’ in their choice.”

At the 65th Senior PGA Championships, Signature Special Event Services will build 135,000 square feet of tenting, plus 150,000 square feet of flooring and carpeting. At the PGA Championships, the company will build 335,000 square feet of tenting, plus 400,000 square feet of flooring and carpeting. Then, at the sold-out Ryder Cup matches in September, Signature Special Event Services will build 330,000 square feet of tenting plus in excess of 500,000 square feet of flooring and carpeting.

“While we’re not exactly putting a tent over an entire golf course, we will be covering and flooring an incredible amount of space at these three great events,” said Brown.
