Signature Special Event Services Announces New Branches In Los Angeles and Shelbyville, KY

 
 

FREDERICK, MD – April 22, 2004 – Signature Special Event Services (www.EventServices.com), North America’s leading full-service event Rental Company, today announced the opening of two new locations, one in Los Angeles, California and another in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Signature Special Event Services’ expansion comes on the heels of the hiring of several members of the former National Events Team from Los Angeles-based Academy Tent & Canvas, which closed its doors in February. The company has also acquired all of Academy’s tent rental assets.

“There is no other company in our industry with more talent or resources strategically available for large, national events,” said Tom Brown, president of Signature Special Event Services. “The opening of our new L.A. and Shelbyville branches not only assures a seamless transition for former Academy clients, it also enables us to provide greatly enhanced event services to our current customer base.”

The Los Angeles branch will be headed by industry veteran Cathy Montez, formerly with Academy, who has more than 22 years of experience in the special events industry. Montez will lead a team of nationally-recognized events professionals with a solid track record of client service and operational expertise for premier events such as the Super Bowl, Summer and Winter Olympics and the Ryder Cup. “Collectively, Cathy and her team possess an unsurpassed knowledge of large event staging,” said Brown, “With the combined inventory of Academy and Signature behind them, they are in a position to serve clients better than ever.”

Signature’s Shelbyville branch will occupy space formerly leased by Academy, at 305 Kentucky Street. The location will significantly ease the transition for its current clients, as will the hiring of key Academy personnel. Heading the office will be Bob Young, with more than 25 years of major events management for such prestigious events as the Kentucky Derby, US Open, Super Bowl and both 1996 and 2002 Olympic Games.
