Signature Special Event Services Wins Multi-Year PGA Contract Renewal
FREDERICK, MD, May 26, 2005 – Signature Special Event Services (www.EventServices.com),
the leading full-service event rental company in North America, said today that
it has been awarded a 4-year contract renewal for three of the most prestigious
events in professional golf.
Tom Brown, president of Signature Special Event Services, said his company’s
agreement with the PGA of America (www.pga.com) to provide services for the PGA
Championship, the Senior PGA Championship, and the Ryder Cup is being extended
through 2009. Mr. Brown credits the past work of Signature Special Event
Services Vice President Cathy Montez and her team with the win.
Over the past year, Ms. Montez and her team have constructed over 1 million
square feet of tenting and flooring for major golf championships including work
at the PGA Senior Championship, The Masters, the Bell South Classic, the Ryder
Cup and others.
Signature’s Wide World of Tents for Sports . . . and More
Ms. Montez said golf is just one of the sports – and one of the special events –
for which Signature provides tenting, flooring, and other services. She said
that Signature just completed work at The Masters, providing two-story corporate
hospitality tents, and at the Bell South Classic, providing tenting and electric
(HVAC). Signature is also setting up the extensive Marquee Village at the
Kentucky Derby, including tenting and electric, and providing similar services
for the upcoming Festival of the Book in Los Angeles at UCLA. And recently
Signature helped welcome baseball back to Washington, D.C., after a 33-year
absence by providing tenting for a special Major League Baseball VIP party
outside RFK Stadium to celebrate the first game at home by the Washington
Nationals.
‘Satisfying Customers Over and Over Again’
“This is a tremendous vote of confidence from a very prestigious client,” said
Mr. Brown. “The PGA of America is making a long-term commitment with first-hand
experience of how we perform in demanding environments.”
“Our business is more than just laying down flooring, putting up tents and then
lighting, heating or cooling the area,” Mr. Brown said. “It’s about taking a
burden off the shoulders of our clients and letting them concentrate on what
they have to do.”
